Woot.
Spotted this straight from Anthropic first thing this morning, right in the middle of editing the book: Fable 5 is staying. They were about to pull it out of the subscription plans and make it API-only, and as of July 20 they’ve reversed it - Fable 5 stays, included in the Max and Team Premium plans (at 50% of the usual limits, but it’s there).
Small print for most people, big deal for me. There was no way I was going to be able to make use of Fable outside of a subscription. On metered API pricing, a model I’d reach for to noodle on the book would just sit there, unused, watching the meter tick. Inside the plan I already pay for, I’ll actually open it.
Fitting that I caught the news doing the exact thing I want it for.
